Been checking out some new Movie Collection software over the last few weeks. I have owned DVD Profiler for about a year and a half, and while it does a great job, it hasn’t been updated in quite a while. The Collectorz program looks good, offering VHS movies as well, which I do have quite a few of, but it doesn’t seem to offer the online aspect that the DVD Profiler offers. But, it is updated pretty regularly and I could just upload the export file and get what I need from that.

There is a freeware package I looked at this morning called MovieDB which could be good if I was a real tightwad, but I think I could handle springing for the Collectorz piece pretty easily, which is the package that’s currently leading the pack.

  1. I also did some research in this field since my movie collection is getting bigger and bigger. So I found several really good tools to organize movies, the one you mentioned is great but is not cheap. I found a really nice free alternative – Movienizer. Just what I needed for keeping order in my movies.
