Cool. Got myself mentioned on Blue’s News. If you haven’t read the Onion article I submitted and you are a gamer, head over to check it out…

Interesting news in the Harry Potter world. Apparently they are looking to digitally have Richard Harris play Albus Dumbledore in the next movie. They are currently going through unseen footage to see if they will be able to map his face onto the face of possible future Dumbledore, Harry Robinson, Harris’s stand in for the first two movies. Considering the amount of special effects in the movies, hopefully it will blend in enough as to not be distracting.

I know that my site has been snagging a bunch of hits for my post a while back about the Logitech MX700. Well, I’ve finally ordered one. And you should, too.

I’ve been on the lookout for one of these for a while, but didn’t want to spend the necesary $70 to get one. Well, when looking through an ad in the Sunday paper for Amazon.com, I decided to go for it.

They have the MX700 listed for $62. That’s $8 less than I’ve seen it anywhere else. But, under that, there is a rebate form for $20 more back. That knocks the price down to $42. Ah, but they will get you on shipping.

WRONG.

If you pick the Super Saver shipping, which is 5-9 business days, they foot the bill for anything over $25, which this is. That’s a $70 mouse delivered to your house in less than 2 weeks for $42 (plus any taxes). That, my friends, is a good deal.

Just head to Amazon.com (the link here will score the Xbox site I work for some support money, but won’t cost you) and do a search for ‘MX700′ or ‘Logitech MX700′. Add it to your cart, print out the rebate listed, and it’s on it’s way.

Well, hope everyone had a happy Turkey day. Yes, I am still alive, but haven’t been very active over here. We’ve been working very hard on prepping our redesign/rename/relaunch of the X-Boxed site and the like, and it’s just been generally busy. That combined with Vice City and Xbox Live is pretty much taking up my free time. If I do find anything that I think someone else would care about, it will go here. Trust me :)

Well, picked up Vice City last nite and played it for a few hours last nite. Definitely worth the money. The first level is huge, with plenty to keep you occupied. Last nite I learned how to jump out of cars and off motorcycles, shoot while driving, fly remote airplanes, drive remote controlled cars, and that they guy in the tan colored clothing is a cop. Learned that last one a few times last nite…

The graphics are a boost over the original, but seem a bit plain until you realize the scope of the game. The amount of vehicles, weapons, buildings, landscapes, and everything makes it feel like a real city, full of crime, corruption and other opportunities :)

If you aren’t living in a cave, then it’s a pretty good chance that you know today is the launch day for Grand Theft Auto Vice City for the PS2. I am planning on picking mine up after work tonite and wasting most of the night just driving around. Heck, I just started playing the first one last night. Before that I would just start the game up and drive around, causing chaos and the like :) Owned the game for almost 6 months and was only about 3 missions in, even though I play it pretty regularly. THAT’S how you make a good game.

If you chuckle a bit when you read today’s Angst Technology, then you’ve probably played one of the best point and click titles available. The company working on the next version of the classic has gone under, but word is that Lucas Arts is still pushing it. Hopefully Sam and Max 2 will show up eventually.

AICN has snagged pics of the teaser posters from Matrix Reloaded and they aren’t helping the fact that we have about 9 months left to wait. But they look so darn cool!!!

Seems like one of the best TV shows of all time is getting updated. CNN.com is reporting that the Duba-Duba-Duba-Duba-Dubyu B (WB) is going to remake the almighty McGuyver. No, Richard Dean Anderson won’t be coming back, but instead the show will focus on a nephew of the man with the Swiss Army knife.

The show should pop up some time in 2003.

In case you haven’t been there in a while, there is a new version of Trillian.cc available. Nothing major and ground breaking, this is just another patch to fix a few issues. If you are a Pro user, head to the forums and check out some of the Plugins and Skins that are starting to show up.

Been enjoying my new pack for the Xbox Live Beta test. It came last week with a shirt and a demo of MotoGP and Whacked. I’m not big into motorcycle racing, but I really seem to enjoy MotoGP. I never played the full version, but I might rent it to open some other stuff up online. If you have saves from the game on your hard drive, the ‘demo’ will unlock the tracks/riders for use online. Pretty sweet. Would be cool if they could use stuff like that in future games. Being able to carry save games over into sequels and such. Interesting…

Doctor Carter is out when his contract is up, according to Infobeat.com. The only remaining original crew member for the show, Carter, played by Noah Wyle, has come full circle from being a student to being a teacher.

Wyle’s contract is up at the end of the 2003-2004 season, so we have almost a full 2 years of the young doctor left.

Probably one of the largest language differences in the US is how we refer to ‘carbonated beverages’. Some call it Coke, others pop, and still others refer to it as soda. This page shows that whichever you use, you are probably surrounded by those who call it the same thing.

b2, the script which is running these posts, as well as the illustrious Webfroot, has finally hit it’s last beta release. The next version is going to be 1.0 and it’s been a long time coming. The creator of this wonderful script, Michel V, has done a great job of making a powerful piece of software, that’s very easy to use. Nice work Michel.

Ever had one of those million dollar ideas that was going to make you rich? Well, I did, but I knew it would never happen for me. So I just sat back and wondered when it would happen. Well, according to a BBC article, someone has finally done it, at least partially.

The Rise alarm clock offers to wake you up early based on traffic conditions. If things are bad, it’ll wake you up a bit earlier. That was something I was planning for my version, but I was going to include weather into the equation. Foggy? Give you an extra 5 minutes. Icy? Better get on the road quite a bit earlier.

You can bet once these hit mainstream, I’ll be in line to get one. I figure that maybe you can even stream audio off of it from other cities since it will have Internet access. Could be quite a machine once it hits the US…

Found out via Webfroot that Michael V, the man behind the glorious b2 has updated his script again. b2 is the news script I use on my site and is ran by quite few others as well. With the new Pingback and Trackback features, it continues to get better and better.

Was checking my email before heading to bed a few nites ago, and lo and behold, there is an email telling me I scored a seat on the Xbox Live Beta crew. Sweet. Ordered my kit the next morning (the order site was swamped that nite) and I’m hoping to get it in time for the weekend. You get the Communicator set, as well as an online only version of NFL Fever 2003. Looking forward to playing a console game over broadband. Have been ever since I plunked down $40 for a Dreamcast LAN adapter, which was forgotten by Sega soon after, before the DC up and died…

Been checking out some new Movie Collection software over the last few weeks. I have owned DVD Profiler for about a year and a half, and while it does a great job, it hasn’t been updated in quite a while. The Collectorz program looks good, offering VHS movies as well, which I do have quite a few of, but it doesn’t seem to offer the online aspect that the DVD Profiler offers. But, it is updated pretty regularly and I could just upload the export file and get what I need from that.

There is a freeware package I looked at this morning called MovieDB which could be good if I was a real tightwad, but I think I could handle springing for the Collectorz piece pretty easily, which is the package that’s currently leading the pack.
